The prosecution is seeking a fifteen-year sentence for news reporting
At yesterday’s hearing of the Intelligence Agency lorries trial, the prosecution put forward its opinion before any shortcomings had been rectified.
The prosecutor sought jail terms of life for the CHP’s Enis Berberoğlu and of up to 15 years in the case of Can Dündar and Erdem Gül for the crime of, ‘while not being members, knowingly aiding the organisation.’
Berberoğlu’s lawyer Yiğit Acar said, ‘We can make no sense of the opinion being put forward without the shortcomings in the file having been rectified. The fair trial principle has been tainted with suspicion.’ The prosecutor has also made reference to Murat İnam, himself a FETO suspect, who has launched a probe into ten of our columnists and managers.
