Turkey removes al-Nusra from ‘terror’ list

Turkey has removed al-Nusra and connected groups from the list of ‘terrorist organisations’. The group was listed by Turkey as a ‘terrorist organisation’ only about 2 weeks before the removal decision. The decision, which was taken during a ministerial cabinet meeting on Monday, was announced in the Official Gazette on Wednesday. Groups active in countries including Mali, Niger, and Algeria were included in the new listing, while The Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) remained at the end of the list.
