“We have received information about an assassination attempt” says Good Party MP

Good Party Balıkesir MP İsmail Ok has said, “We have received information that there will be an assassination attempt on the leader of a new party that is a pathfinder in Turkish politics and is a staunch supporter of democracy, the law and justice.”

Ok contended at the press conference he held in parliament that those who have been unable to stop the Good Party from contesting the election have taken to hatching plots. Ok, claiming that false news had been brought out about the Good Party obtaining treasury support, remarked, “I give my word that if the Good Party takes one penny from the treasury, never mind 25 million, I will commit hara-kiri.”

Ok, indicating they had received intimations that those who had been unable to stop the Good Party from contesting the election would bring certain murky strategies into play, said that in Turkey between the 7 June-1 November elections bombs went off, hundreds of people lost their lives and an environment of chaos was created.

“WE HAVE RECEIVED INFORMATION ABOUT AN ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT"

Ok, asking, “Who were the dark forces who set of these bombs between 7 June-1 November? Which party or parties collected votes as a result of these bombs?” continued as follows:

“We are receiving serious information that is more than just intimation. We have received information that there will be an assassination attempt on the leader of a new party that is a pathfinder in Turkish politics and is a staunch supporter of democracy, the law and justice. We are receiving information that, if this does not happen, bombs will be set off, assassinations will be conducted and an environment of chaos will be created in Turkey just like between 7 June and 1 November. We make a call and warning from here to the final prime minister and the final government. Being the final prime minister does not absolve you of responsibility. Take the necessary measures at once.”

On being asked by a member of the press if they had spoken to government officials about the assassination intimations and if Good Party General Chair Meral Akşener had requested additional protection, Ok said, “I have passed this on to an official person. Let this remain between us for the moment. He is not from the government.”

On being reminded of allegations that the CHP MPs who transferred to the Good Party would return to their party again and being asked, “Will candidates from your party or the CHP be fielded?” Ok noted, “The commissions will decide on this. Regardless of whether they are from our party, from another party or they abandon politics, I believe we must accommodate these people.”
