Federico Motka, a 31-year-old Italian journalist who was abducted in Syrian a year ago, was released by his abductors on Tuesday. The Italian journalist was brought to Turkey after his release, entering the country from Akcakale Border Gate in Sanliurfa in southeastern Turkey. He was taken to Akcakale State Hospital for a medical examination upon his arrival.

The journalist will be handed over to Italian authorities, who are expected to arrive in Sanliurfa on Tuesday, and sent to his home-country.
