SURUÇ MASSACRE

In the trial over the 33 young people who died as a consequence of an ISIL suicide attack on 20 July 2015 in Suruç, Suruç police chief at the time, Mehmet Yapalıal, was fined 7,500 lira for the offence of ‘neglect and abuse of duty’. The court ordered the defendant to pay his fine in 12 instalments.
