PRESERVE THE SANCTITY OF THE BALLOT BOX
The CHP has called on parliament to shoulder its duty to ensure that the constitutional amendment referendum is conducted without blemish. Istanbul MPs Sezgin Tanrıkulu and Barış Yarkadaş have called on a parliamentary investigation commission to be set up so as to: ‘Ensure that it passes off within an environment of security and peace, transparently, fairly, free from blemish and under the rules of openness.’
LET THE LISTS OF VOTERS BE EXAMINED
In the reasons for the proposal, it was requested that the Supreme Election Board detail in a published report the processes for updating and monitoring the ballot boxes within its remit, and it was stated that political parties should be provided with information as to how lists of voters were created. The importance of maintaining the integrity of post-voting records was pointed out in the application.
