cumhuriyet.com.trThe twelfth day of the Justice March launched by CHP General Chair Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has started.
‘THIS HAS UPSET US GREATLY’
The CHP leader made a brief announcement before the march. Kılıçdaroğlu, noting that they had received indications that preparations were made at Maltepe Prison before the detention order against Enis Berberoğlu, commented, ‘This has upset us greatly and has shown us once again why justice is necessary.’ The main points from Kılıçdaroğlu's announcement are as follow:
Just think, while a person is on trial and with a decision yet to be passed, a room is nevertheless made ready at Maltepe Prison. The room is brought up to scratch, because it is known in advance that that person will be convicted. The length of the sentence to be imposed is known in advance and a place is made ready accordingly. This instance is one of the most concrete examples showing the connection between the judiciary and the political rulership. This is one of the most basic events that gives legitimacy to this march of ours. The executive organ dictates the decision and the court just rattles it off. This has upset us greatly and has shown us once again why justice is necessary. We are continuing on our way on the twelfth day.
