HDP’s Hüda Kaya’s son’s spine broken while under arrest – handcuffed to hospital bed
The son of HDP Istanbul MP Hüda Kaya, Muhammed Cihad, arrested during protests held in İstanbul Kadıköy against the detention of HDP MPs, suffered a breakage to his spine at the police station. Cihad was handcuffed to the bed in the hospital to which he was taken.

Koçak, posting Muhammed Cihad’s photo on her Twitter account, stated: “Muhammed Cihad is being taken to the prosecutor’s office with a broken spine due to the torture he was subjected to at the police station.”

The police broke up the reading of a press statement held by women’s organisations in Kadıköy İskele Square in opposition to the detaining of HDP women MPs. A police officer was witnessed striking HDP Istanbul MP Hüda Kaya with his hand during the intervention.
