FOREIGN REPRESENTATIVES DENIED ACCESS TO THE HEARING

The FETO trial in Adana, in which journalists including Journalists Union of Turkey’s Adana Branch Chair Salim Büyükkaya are being prosecuted, has begun. The court’s presiding judge denied international representatives’ applications to monitor the public trial ‘because restrictions have been placed on the right to campaign affecting our country.’ Thanks to the objection, foreign representatives were only able to monitor the hearing for thirty minutes.
