FAILURE TO DEFEND ITS AUTHORITY

The Supreme Electoral Council has declined an application for it to ‘disregard’ the decree with the force of law that annuls its power to impose fines on TV stations that engage in partisan broadcasting. Lawyer Sedat Vural has said that the Supreme Electoral Council is denying the reason for its existence.
