CENSORSHIP LEADS TO SCANDAL

At the meeting organised by Mersin Bar Association to mark Women’s Day, Bar Association Chair Ali Er censored the word ‘No’ in the 8 March declaration to be read by the bar association’s Women’s Rights Centre. When, in response to the censorship, lawyer Şilan Türk came to the rostrum to read the declaration, Er pushed Türk away. Twelve women lawyers resigned.
