TWENTY PEOPLE DOING THE ROUNDS
There would appear to be no substance to the impression created following the eruption of the crisis with Germany and the Netherlands of there being a ‘Yes’ ban in Europe. Before the crisis and after, AKP ministers, MPs and managers have continued to pull out all the stops in their referendum campaigning. The CHP’s Tekin Bingöl has revealed that nearly twenty AKP MPs are continuing to hold meetings in Germany, France and Austria.
WHAT IS HAPPENING IN TURKEY?
Bingöl, describing the ongoing crisis as an attempt to engineer a perception, has said, ‘There is no European country that the AKP people have not visited. They have continued uninterrupted with their meetings and visited small businesspeople and have encountered no obstacles. In Turkey, on the other hand, there have been 110 arrests. These have targeted entirely ‘No’ campaigners. What name are those who call what goes on abroad ‘fascism’ to give to this intimidation in Turkey?
