The CHP has compiled a report on the AKP government’s economic and social policies over fifteen years. According to the report entitled, ‘The Invoice for 15 Years is the AKP’s Heavy Destruction,’ with the people being impoverished in the AKP’s Turkey, the number of millionaires has risen from 32,000 to 108,000 in the past five years. Child abuse, violence against women, prostitution and sexual harassment have skyrocketed.

 

  • Consumer indebtedness to banks has risen from TRY 6.6 billion to TRY 419.6 billion.
  • Petrol, TRY 1.66 in 2002, is TRY 4.44, while diesel, which was TRY 1.30, was TRY 4.74 in December 2016.
  • 1 m3 of water has risen from 144 kurush to 408 kurush, and 1 kilowatt hour of electricity from 16 kurush to 42 kurush.
  • Turkey has fallen to 99th place among 113 countries in the rule of law index.
  • Sexual abuse of children has risen by 434% and violence against women by 1400%.
  • Turkey is ranked in 151st place among 180 countries in the press freedom index.
