ASSAD’S FORCES BLOCK THE WAY TO RAQQA FOR THE FSA

Following the incident in which Russia ‘accidentally’ hit Turkish soldiers on 9 February, Assad and Free Syrian Army forces clashed for the second time yesterday in Tadef to the south of Al-Bab.

It has been learnt that the battle, in which Free Syrian Army components profess to have killed 22 Syrian soldiers, has been halted with Russia’s intervention. The Syrian regime has, in taking control of the region, both become a neighbour of the Syrian Democratic Forces, in which the YPG/YPD predominate, in Manbij and blocked the way to Raqqa for the Euphrates Shield Operation.
